Company Description
Breedon Aggregates is a breed unto itself in the world of building materials. The company produces aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mixed concrete from about 70 quarries and plants in England and Scotland. It owns some 180 million tonnes of mineral resources and reserves in the UK. Breedon also provides contracting services repairing roads and owns a majority of Scotland's Alba Traffice Management. A victim of the financial and construction downturn, predecessor Ennstone emerged from administration in 2010. The firm was restructured and recapitalized by Breedon Holdings, which was then acquired by Marwyn Materials. Today, Breedon is the largest of the mid-tier firms, and it plans to grow through acquisition.
