Boxee makes watching Internet TV easy. The company's software allows users to watch videos distributed over the Internet (including streamed Netflix content) on their home television sets. Boxee's free software is compatible with operating systems by Apple, Linux, and Windows; users only need to purchase a cable to connect to a tablet or smartphone (PC support was phased out in 2012.) Users can also share videos on social media platforms. For the less tech-savvy, there's the Boxee Box, a set-top box that stores video content and comes with a remote control. The Boxee Box, launched in 2010, is manufactured by Taiwan-based D-Link Corporation. The Boxee Box is sold at retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Frys.
