Bosselman depends on truckers needing a pit stop to pump it up and pack it in. The diversified family-owned-and-operated firm runs about 45 Pump & Pantry convenience stores across Nebraska. Other ventures include a full-service Bosselman Travel Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, as well as 30-plus Boss Truck Shops in 20 states that offer truck repair services. Bosselman also operates restaurants (mostly Grandma Max's) and motels under the Motel 6, Hampton Inn, and Pump & Pantry brands. Other operations include Bosselman Energy (wholesale oil, fuel, and propane delivery) and a sport team. Founder Frederick H. Bosselman -- a farmer and part-time truck driver -- opened his first truck stop in 1948.
