It is no longer a secret that Washington State is producing some great wines, thanks to the efforts of such wineries as Bookwalter. Bookwalter Winery produces Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and other red and white wines from Washington's Columbia Valley. The company has focused on producing ultra-premium red wines but does manage to produce a few bottles available for less than $20. Grapes come both from the company's vineyard in Richland, Washington, and other area-grown vines. Bookwalter Winery is led by Jerry Bookwalter who began making wines in the early 1980s. Today, Jerry is aided by his son John.
