Boca Foods works to save quite a few cows, one burger at a time. The company, a subsidiary of Kraft Foods, makes frozen low-fat meatless products that focus on protein, fiber, and calcium. It's menu includes burgers, breakfast links, ground meatless crumbles, and breaded faux chicken nuggets and patties. Boca Foods also offers entrees such as meat-free lasagna and chili. Its products, which are soy-based (using organic and non-organic soy protein), provide consumers with the needed protein normally found in meat. They're primarily sold through US grocery retailers, but Boca Foods is expanding to restaurants, as well. Kraft acquired Boca Foods from private investment firm Austin Ventures in 2000.
