If you've ever called the five ball in the corner pocket, thank the Billiard Congress of America (BCA). The not-for-profit group is the organizing committee for the sport of pocket billiards. It sets rules, organizes tournaments, and promotes the game. It promotes the game through educational programs and the International Billiard & Home Recreation Expo, held annually. Its tournaments include the BCA Open 9-Ball, BCA Junior Nationals, WPA (World Pool-Billiard Association) World Events, and WPA Junior Worlds. The organization was founded in 1948 to set rules and help give legitimacy to the growing sport of shooting billiards.
