Company Description
Founded by Mary McLeod Bethune as a school for African-American women, Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) is in the top tier of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) in the US. The university has more than 3,600 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in some 40 majors. B-CU has six satellite campuses in addition to its main site in Daytona, Florida. After being founded in 1904 as the Daytona Educational and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls on what had been the city garbage dump, the school merged with the co-ed Cookman Institute of Jacksonville in 1923. B-CU became a university in 2007.
