Bernhardt Furniture is a family-founded and -run manufacturer of upscale casegoods and upholstered furniture. Founded in 1889, the company makes custom-built furnishings for the living room, dining room, and bedroom and sells them through retailers, such as Dillard's and Star Furniture . Bernhardt established a contract division, Bernhardt Design, in 1981 to sell furniture to outfit corporate offices and public areas. The company also makes the Martha Stewart Furniture and Smithsonian Collection by Bernhardt furniture lines, which are sold at stores nationwide.
