The company provides  construction and plant services for the industrial, petroleum, chemical, mining, and power industries throughout the US. Becon has served such clients as Anheuser-Busch, the US Air Force, Chevron, and Houston Lighting and Power. Prominent projects include the expansion of a refinery and the construction of an LNG terminal in the US Gulf Coast. Parent Bechtel Group founded Becon Construction as an open shop contractor (meaning workers can be either union or non-union) in 1978.
