Company Description
Management consulting and systems integration firm BearingPoint wanted to help its clients navigate their way to success across the uncharted seas of modern business and technology, but the company lost its own way. BearingPoint filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February 2009. Racked with a heavy debt load, it launched a fire sale to shed its remaining divisions and business segments. By 2010, the BearingPoint brand was still being used by the company's former Europe, Middle East, and Africa practice, which it sold to its European management team in August 2009. In its heyday, BearingPoint operated in some 60 countries, providing services to businesses, government agencies, and other enterprises.
