It also makes urns and other memorial products for the cremation market. The firm's direct sales force sells Batesville caskets to licensed funeral homes in the US, as well as in the UK, Australia, Mexico, South Africa, and Puerto Rico. It supplies nearly half of the US market. Batesville makes most of its caskets in the US but also has manufacturing plants in Mexico. It also offers display furniture for funerals. Batesville Casket is an operating company of newly-formed Hillenbrand , created when Hillenbrand Industries spun off its funeral services business in 2008.
