Founded in 1963, its flagship facility is Baptist Medical Center South, which has more than 450 beds and serves as a regional referral center. Baptist Medical Center East has 150 beds and serves Montgomery's east side. A third facility, Prattville Baptist Hospital, is an 85-bed community hospital, located in a small town just northwest of Montgomery. Baptist Health also operates a freestanding ambulatory surgical center and has an affiliated network of urgent care centers called PriMed.
