Better known as Credito Valtellinese or Creval, Banca Piccolo Credito Valtellinese is the cooperative bank holding company for several Italian banks and other financial services subsidiaries. The group operates about 500 branches through retail banks Credito Artigiano, Credito Siciliano, Banca dell'Artigianato e dell'Industria, Credito Piemontese, and Cassa di Risparmio di Fano. The banks' lending activities are dominated by mortgage loans and, to a lesser extent, finance leases. Other group members provide asset management, insurance, business finance, and additional services. Creval owns stakes in several other banking and asset management companies. The company was originally established in 1908.
