Company Description

BBC Magazines, formerly part of BBC Worldwide, published more than 30 magazines. The company was a major consumer magazine publisher in the UK, along with IPC Group  and H. Bauer Publishing. Its titles included magazines of special interest such as BBC History Magazine and BBC Good Food, as well as magazines for teens (Top of the Pops), pre-teens (Girl Talk), and pre-schoolers between 0 and 5 (Bob the Builder, Teletubbies). Its titles for adults include Gardens Illustrated, Radio Times, and Top Gear. Through an agreement with Lonely Planet, the company additionally published Lonely Planet Magazine. In 2011 BBC Worldwide sold most of its magazine business to Exponent Private Equity  for some £121 million.
