It was formed in 1778 and now has about 160 locations selling gold and silver jewelry, diamond jewelry, watches, and gifts. Upscale UK jeweler Mappin & Webb, with nearly 20 locations, also belongs to Aurum. It offers diamond and other jewelry, watches (TAG Heuer, Omega, Chrisitan Dior), and gifts. Finally, Watches of Switzerland sells, you guessed it, Swiss watches from a dozen stores, mostly in London. Its upscale brands include Audemars Piquet, Breitling, Cartier, Longines, Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Zenith, among others. Icelandic bank Landsbanki owns about 70% of Aurum.
