Atlas Copco has carried the weight of the construction and mining industries on its shoulders since 1873. An industrial group, it divides its heavy-equipment manufacturing business into three segments: The largest, Compressor Technique (air and gas compressors, electric generators, air treatment equipment, management systems); Construction and Mining Technique (drilling rigs, rock drilling tools, mining equipment, construction and demolition tools); and Industrial Technique (industrial power tools, assembly systems, software and service). Customers are mainly engaged in the mining, manufacturing, and construction industries. Atlas Copco spans the globe; about two-thirds of its sales are made outside of Europe.
