This record company makes sure there's music to please fans from sea to shinning sea. Atlantic Records Group is one of the top purveyors of pop music in the US, promoting such artists as Southern rapper T. I., the rock band Death Cab for Cutie, and Kid Rock. It distributes such imprints as Bad Boy Records (50%-owned with Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment ) and Elektra Records, as well as the venerable Atlantic Records label. A 2005 restructuring plan included the consolidation of the Elektra Records and Atlantic Records labels. Music industry mogul Ahmet Ertegun and partner Herb Abramson started Atlantic in 1947.
