Company Description

By bus and by train, people arrive at work, home, and other places via Arriva. The company competes with FirstGroup and Stagecoach to rank as one of the largest bus and rail operators in the UK. Its fleet, deployed in several regions, consists of about 7,000 vehicles, including more than 1,500 that operate in London (some of which are devoted to The Original Tour sightseeing business). The company's UK rail franchises comprise CrossCountry (covers about 1,500 miles at more than 100 stations) and Arriva Trains Wales (running through Wales and the English border counties). Outside the UK, Arriva operates about 9,000 buses and 350 train sets across 11 European countries. In 2010, Deutsche Bahn took over Arriva.
