Company Description

ARMOUR Residential hopes to protect its investments with the strength of the US government. A real estate investment trust, or REIT, ARMOUR Residential invests in single-family residential mortgage-backed securities issued or guaranteed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae. The company's investments include fixed-rate, adjustable-rate, and hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages (hybrid mortgages start off with fixed rates that may eventually increase as the loan matures). To a lesser extent, the company also invests in government-issued bonds, unsecured notes, and other debt. Formed in 2008, ARMOUR Residential is externally managed by ARMOUR Residential Management LLC.
