Operating under the Canadian Springs and Labrador Source brands, Aquaterra delivers 18.5-litre returnable and small format bottled water to more than 175,000 customers in Canada through retail, office, and home delivery channels. The company also provides services such as water cooler rental, sales and cleaning, and point of use water filtration systems. Aquaterra was formed in mid-2006 when France's Groupe Danone sold its Danone Waters of Canada business to the Toronto-based investment firm Birch Hill Equity Partners. Groupe Danone had acquired the company, known at the time as Sparkling Springs, from the Canadian investment bank Clairvest in 2003.
