Applied Research Associates (ARA) has defense pretty much down to a science. The research and engineering contractor develops software and equipment for the aerospace and defense, civil, and commercial sectors. Through offices, laboratories, and testing and manufacturing facilities in North America, ARA designs computer simulation systems and models for weapons and biodefense development, offers building security training and inspection services, and makes robotic, geotechnical, and traffic monitoring equipment through its Vertek division.
