The sands of the Sahara have been kind to Anadarko Algeria. The company, the largest foreign oil producer in Algeria, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum, has production facilities and other operating units located in the Algerian Sahara Desert. Anadarko Algeria accounts for about 15% of its parent's total revenues (the large source of revenue outside of the US). The company works closely with state-owned Sonatrach in a Production Sharing Agreement on two blocks, under which Sonatrach is responsible for 51% of the development and production costs, Anadarko 24.5%. All ofAnadarko Algeria's production to date comes from Block 404, with Block 208 expected to commence production 2012.
