The wholesale arm of party supply company Party City Holdings, Amscan manufactures and distributes party goods (such as balloons, invitations, piñatas, stationery, and tableware) to 800-plus Party City superstores, as well as those operated by rival party chains, discount and grocery stores, dollar stores, and gift shops. Amscan has production and distribution facilities in North America, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific region. A subsidiary of Party City, Amscan contributes about 30% of its parent company's revenue. Party City Holdings, which is owned by Berkshire Partners, Weston Presidio, and Advent International, has filed to go public.
