American Derringer owner Elizabeth Saunders is a real pistol. She stars in her own ads clad in a bustier while brandishing her signature handgun and the company's best-seller, the Lady Derringer. The tiny pistol of Wild West fame fits a petite palm with its faux ivory grip engraved with the image of a Victorian lady. American Derringer peddles a variety of pistols and accessories, such as holsters, perfume, scarves, and ties. The gun manufacturer targets women in need of a shooting iron and collectors looking for an item with a history. Company founder Robert Saunders hired Elizabeth for his sales staff. They married, and when he died in 1993, she took over the company.
