It books services in Germany for some 460 airlines, 190 tour operators, 84,000 hotels, and 25 car rental companies, among others. The group also markets services through call centers and the Internet. Amadeus Germany got its start as START Amadeus. In 2003 parent company  Amadeus acquired Lufthansa's stake in START Amadeus, which was formed in 1971.
