Albany International's products look good on paper and on papermaking machines. The company makes paper machine clothing (PMC, custom-made fabrics and belts that move paper stock through each phase of production). Albany produces about 45% of the monofilament yarn used in its paper machine clothing and relies on independent suppliers for the remainder. It markets these products to paper mills worldwide through a direct sales staff. Subsidiary Albany Door Systems also makes industrial fabric doors, such as aircraft hangar doors and dock doors.
