The college is the senior school of the US Air Force's Air University, principally located at Maxwell Air Force Base and nearby Gunter Annex in Alabama. Air War College has up to 270 resident and more than 6,000 non-resident students from all branches of the US armed forces, as well as military personnel from other countries.
