Affiliate Air India Express operates as a low-fare carrier between India and the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Air India Cargo provides freight transportation. The government of India combined Air India and Indian Airlines, both state-controlled carriers, under one umbrella (formerly known as National Aviation Company of India Limited [NACIL]), in 2007. Today, Air India holds more than 18% domestic market share.
