It owns controlling stakes in entities including The Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East, Al-Ahli Bank (Qatar), Commercial Bank of Iraq, Kuwait & Middle East Financial Investment Company, and Ahli Bank (formerly Alliance Housing Bank, Oman). AUB divides its operations into four business lines: commercial banking, treasury, and investments; private banking and wealth management; retail banking; and risk management. Through Ahli Bank, the company began offering Islamic Sharia-compliant banking in 2007.
