Its main facility is the 250-bed Adena Regional Medical Center, which provides general medical and surgical care, as well as specialty care in a number of areas, including cardiology, women's health, oncology, and rehabilitation. The health system also features outpatient clinics, surgery centers, medical office buildings, and a counseling center, among other facilities. The history of the Adena Health System goes back to 1895, when a group of local women established an emergency hospital in the wake of a fatal train wreck.
