Acme United has taken measures to trim its business. It sold its medical equipment division to focus on its core products: scissors, rulers, and first-aid kits. Its products are used in schools, offices, and homes. (The kits come complete with bandages, gloves, and over-the-counter medications.) Its name brands include Westcott, Clauss, and PhysiciansCare. Acme sells its products to stationery and school supply distributors, office supply stores, and mass merchants, such as Staples, Office Max, and United Stationers. Its operations span Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, China, and the US (which contributes most of sales).
