The company's oncology and research division is developing a line of injectable drugs starting with Abraxane, its patented nanoparticle version of cancer drug paclitaxel. Abraxis BioScience is working to quickly develop a market for Abraxane, which is approved for use in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. The drug is approved for marketing in about 35 countries and available in nine; the company is working to get it on the market in others. It often works with local partners to sell the drug in global markets.
