Company Description

Once an able consolidator in the fragmented heating-oil and motor fuels markets, Able Energy provided retail distribution of heating oil and other fuels to more than 30,000 residential and commercial customers in Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. However, a downturn in the market and financial difficulty with its All American Plazas' business (which operated a network of travel plazas) forced the company to sell its assets. In 2010 Able Energy sold all but a couple of real estate holdings to high performance materials company Exousia Advanced Materials in return for a stake in that company.
