Company Description

Eesti Telekom is a holding company for telecommunications and tehnology companies in the Baltic country of Estonia. Subsidiary Elion Enterprises serves about 500,000 customers with fixed-line telephone service, while about 300,000 subscribers access the Internet over its network. Eesti also offers digital television programming under the digiTV brand. Other services include Web hosting and business data storage. Wireless subsidiary EMT has about 800,000 prepaid and postpaid cell phone subscribers. Through subsidiary MicroLink, the company offers IT services to businesses. Stockholm-based TeliaSonera increased its 60% stake in Eesti to 100% in late 2009 when it bought out the Republic of Estonia's minority stake.
