With ASICS America you don't have to earn your stripes, you just have to purchase them. ASICS America is the North American arm of Japanese athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories maker ASICS Corporation. Its shoe collection -- featuring a trademarked stripe design -- includes footwear for basketball, racing and running, track and field, volleyball, walking, and wrestling. ASICS products, which were introduced in the US in 1977, are sold at regional and national retailers throughout the country, as well as through online vendors such as Zappos.com. ASICS opened its first freestanding store in the US in fall 2009.
