AIG Investments is gaga for its investment management gig. The company manages investments in equities, fixed-income securities, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate. The investment arm of insurance giant American International Group (AIG), it oversees approximately $480 billion in assets, primarily for its parent company but also for other institutional investors. Most of its assets under management are invested in fixed-income products. The firm also has expertise in private banking, trading, and treasury. AIG Investments and affiliated entities operate about 45 offices in major cities around the world.
