Company Description

AES Wind Generation harnesses sea winds and other big blows. The alternative energy company operates wind farms and provides operational services (including consulting, maintenance, and asset management) for its clients. AES Wind Generation operates 30 plants with a generation capacity of more than 1,200 MW (85% of which is from plants owned by the unit, the rest through management contracts). Those generation plants are located primarily in the US but also in Bulgaria, China, France, and Scotland. Independent power producer AES acquired SeaWest Holdings in 2005 in an effort to jumpstart its wind energy business.
