What do Tupperware and telephone service have in common? For ACN, it's all in how you sell it. The telecommunications reseller uses multilevel marketing (the sales strategy used by consumer goods distributors Tupperware and Amway). Its commission-based distributors operate in 20 countries, reselling local and long-distance phone service, as well as Internet and wireless access, satellite TV, digital telephony, utilities, and home security services. ACN buys network resources from such carriers as AT&T, Telstra, and Qwest. Satellite TV services are offered through deals with DIRECTV and DISH Network. ACN was co-founded in 1993 by chairman Robert Stevanovski, president Gregory Provenzano, and VP's Mike and Tony Cupisz.
