ACL took its current form and name in 2003 after Print Data Corporation acquired Atlantic Components Limited. This first ACL had been founded in 1991; the private company completed its transaction with Print Data to gain a stock market listing in the US. Print Data had been a distributor of office items such as business forms, furniture, and office equipment accessories. (That business was subsequently sold off.)
