3M Purification looks at liquids and gases through rose-colored filters. The company, a unit of 3M's Industrial and Transportation segment, makes a full line of filtration products for the health care, fluid-processing, and potable-water markets. Its filters remove contaminants as small as molecules and particles as large as sand from liquids and gases. They are used to purify drugs, paints and resins, oil and gas, and home drinking water. 3M Purification assigns its own scientists to work with customers when creating new products. The company, which was known as CUNO until 2009, operates sales offices worldwide and eight manufacturing plants in Australia, Europe,  Japan, South America, and the US.
