The company provides closed-circuit TV (CCTV) monitoring systems for buses and trains and their stops. The system can transmit images to public transport officials and to the police. Other products include the EcoManager driver monitoring system, which lets bus drivers know if their driving style is conserving or wasting fuel, and the Passenger Analysis System that connects the ticket machine and an on-board passenger counter. 21st Century sells its products across Europe. The company began business in 1993 as Toad plc, an in-car entertainment system company, and took its current name and focus in 2009.
