Primary Corp. traded in its lab coat and miner's helmet for a business suit and an investment portfolio. The company came into being in 2008 when mining company Trans America Industries, which had explored claims in Canada and the western US, combined with the former Inex Pharmaceuticals to form a new venture capital and merchant banking firm called Primary Corp. The new company's focus is on direct investments and bridge loans to small development-stage mining and energy companies. President and CEO Robert Pollock owns approximately 15% of Primary Corp.
