Augen Capital is a merchant bank that invests in early-stage natural resources companies, particularly those in Canada's mining sector. The firm has holdings in more than 100 gold, nickel, base metals, and uranium exploration development companies, as well as emerging resource stocks. It also owns limited partnerships that invest in mining exploration companies and oil and gas interests, and manages the Augen Resource Strategy Fund, a mutual fund with holdings in equities of Canadian natural resources companies, fixed-income securities, and money market instruments. The company is also investing in the Colombian coal industry. Canadian firm Trelawney Mining and Exploration acquired Augen Capital in late 2011.
