Universal American provides unified coverage for the silver-haired set. The holding company owns several insurance firms aimed at serving US senior citizens. It covers about 160,000 Medicare Advantage members with such products as HMO, PPO, and private fee-for-service plans (many of which are sold under the Today's Options banner), as well as supplemental Medicare insurance. The company also offers senior life insurance, annuity, and final expense insurance sold under the Senior Solutions banner. Other subsidiaries market disability and hospitalization insurance and related products to self-employed individuals in the US.
