Gymboree sells clothes and accessories for kids in the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Its 950-plus locations include stores under the names Gymboree and Gymboree Outlet (colorful, fashionable playsuits and rompers), Janie and Jack (better newborn and toddler apparel), and Crazy 8 (bold styles meant to be mixed and matched). Gymboree's offerings -- tees & tops, jeans & pants, activewear, sleepware, shoes -- cater to both girls and boys, from newborns through 14 years. The company is owned by a group of its former lenders, including Searchlight Capital, Oppenheimer, and others. It emerged from bankruptcy protection late in 2017 only to file again in early 2019; all Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores are being shuttered and Janie and Jack locations are expected to be sold at auction.
