Tobei Masataka Takenaka's work as a 17th-century shrine builder has grown into Takenaka Corporation, one of Japan's largest engineering and construction firms. The company designs and builds structures internationally, including office towers, industrial plants, schools, sports arenas, health care facilities, and condominiums. It has offices across Japan, as well as in other Asian countries, Europe, and the Americas. Takenaka's design accomplishments include the Tokyo Tower and Imperial Palace in Japan, the International School of Amsterdam, and the Nippon Club Tower in New York. President and CEO Toichi Takenaka is a 17th-generation member of the founding family.
