Saucony wants to be the sole provider to athletes young and old. Best known for its performance running shoes produced under the Saucony name, the company also sells shoes for walking, cross-training, and hiking. The manufacturer, founded in 1898, makes and markets Saucony Originals -- vintage designs with style names "jazz low pro vegan." Saucony's products are sold through parent Stride Rite's wholesale segment, which overall sells to customers in more than 80 countries and territories, alongside its other brands Keds and Sperry Top-Sider. Saucony became part of Stride Rite's business in late 2005, when it was acquired for some $170 million in cash.
