The granite in the Granite State won't keep the folks in New Hampshire warm in winter, but New Hampshire Electric Cooperative will. The utility provides electricity to about 80,000 residential and business customers (who are also member-owners of the cooperative) in 115 New Hampshire towns and cities. The enterprise operates 5,400 miles of distribution lines, and is seeking to become a complete energy solutions organization, offering energy saving options such as equipment retrofits at local schools and selling energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs. Most of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative's revenues comes from residential customers, and the balance form small businesses.
