It may have started out as a place for elderly Masons to retire to, but today Masonicare provides senior health care services to all Connecticut seniors, Mason or not. The firm operates about 10 retirement and nursing homes, including skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities and assisted and independent living communities. Services at the facilities include physical therapy, rehabilitation, and inpatient and outpatient mental health care for seniors; the firm also offers home and hospice care. Masonicare was established in 1995, but its roots date back to 1895 when the Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut established a home for orphans and the elderly with Masonic ties.
