Laura Ashley has cleaned out her closet and is redecorating. Once famous for its floral print fashions, Laura Ashley Holdings has turned to furniture, home accessories, and decor (80% of sales) to fill the till. While it still sells women's and girls' apparel at nearly two-thirds of its 210 UK locations, fashion accounts for only about a fifth of total sales. Laura Ashley's strategy is to outfit homes with its furniture, carpets, blinds, shutters, and such and to decorate them in its distinctive style through its Design Service.
